I want to know if Micky's Dog, Pluto, is cavorting around on Saturn's rings as Uranus kicks all in the nether regions. Age of Aquarius, eh? Do tell. I have good intuition and that is good and bad, sometimes. It keeps me on my toes and wary but hopeful. It is summer in the Foothills of the Sierra and there is smoke in the air. It is, I understand, a good distance away but when you live with the trees, well...we have a "defensible space". Wary but hopeful. Perhaps the rain in those giant clouds will put out the fire that they started...hopeful.
I got a call from the doctor's assistant that works the nursing homes that are affiliated with Kaiser. He was responding to the call from the nurses to say that mom had had more seizures. So, yesterday I had to make that decision that no one likes to make...one further along in the end of life world. I had A. The works, which means hospital and tests and all of that stuff and B. taking the antibiotics out of the equation. I chose B and hope that he is right about it being an ok end of life. I had a panic attack on the way down to see her today, expecting to see her in a bad way. To the contrary, all of the aides talk about how "chatty" she can be. ??? Ok. Cool. She knew me, squeezed my hand and loved the flowers from the garden. There you have it. She is SO well looked after and I am very grateful for that. The aides are very kind to her and think that the doctor is nuts. They spend more time with her than anybody, to be sure. I got off of the Panic Train but have a paper transfer...
So, I would like to introduce you to someone very tiny and cute as a button. They call her Millie and she is the red headed step-child of the Majacraft family. I just love her in all of her quirky beauty and lady-like ways. So CUTE and sturdy. You pick her up by that handle in the front. Perfectly balanced. I am glad to have her in my collection.
We are full-on into summer and the humidity went up today, making a lesser temperature less palatable. The good news is that the veggie garden is doing SO well and so there are oodles and oodles and oodles of pumpkin & Zucchini blossoms. Hmmm........
Squash Blossom in Baby Alpaca Silk. I KNOW, it says Summer, to me.
Come on CUKES and 'Maters!
On a sad note, I want to send love to the family of the writer, Bill Tappley. Bon Voyage, Bill.

OK I am not a yellow person but my garden is full of pumpkin, squash, and cucumber blossoms (tons of blossoms; right now, less fruit...) and that is a yummy color. Now give me the cooler yellow of cucumber blossoms!

My mom was a contentious old soul, and went up and down and up and down. Sometimes, often actually, I thought that she did it on purpose. And then came the time. She lost all of that anger and bitterness that she had always had and became peaceful. It was amazing and if I hadn't been there, I wouldn't have believed it. Even my husband said he had never seen her so peaceful.

The wheel and the yarn are beautiful. As for veggies, I wish I had a picture of the black squirrel pushing a tentative paw at the birdnetting--no, you can't have any more of my tomatoes!
Best wishes and good luck with your mom. As always.
