Well, this post is about something big coming and something small going. Yesterday morning started very early, with The Husband actually getting out the door and to work by 7 am so that he could drop everything and come home to greet THE TUFF-SHED GUY
when we got the "30 minutes out" call (he lied...he was here in 10). Yes, finally, finally, FINALLY I have my red barn...well not the kind of red barn that I was lusting after this summer (the one that was going to be my business building) but an itty bitty 10 foot by twelve foot red barn, where I can store my show equipment and all of that stuff that you NEED several times a year but are tripping over all the rest of the time. Yeah...the Dye-raj and her brother the Workshop will be able to co-exist without their evil twins, Crap and More Crap junking up the place. See? Of course now we need to find the time to escort the evil twins through the goop that the guys made in the rain yesterday and into their new home.
You remember the lovely flat place where The Thundering Herd liked to romp a couple of months ago? That flat place that was flattened by The Husband to make space for the barn? It has been a dry flat space for quite a long time now and yesterday and the night before, we finally had rain.
Done, with nothin' but goop to walk through. Ewwwww.
Soooooo, while all of this activity was going on in the side yard, I used my nervous energy to spin a pound of Emerald City Biffle. Yes, one pound. I still have the second half of the project to do but my small pinch and release muscles are protesting. Sigh.
In the meantime, here you go, Josie. The last of the yarn is finally dry and here is your haul. Yes, the two pounds of Petroglyph merino and two pounds of Deep Sea Biffle are done done done and ready to travel. WHEW!
No, this is not THE going, well...I guess that it is A going but not THE going that I had in mind when I started this post this morning, before breakfast. THE going happened last night, when The Husband and I had to trundle ourselves out to the hospital in Concord, where the MIL is staying. THE going was her big toe. Yup, in a lifesaving move, her lovely foot doctor said The Toe Must Go because the infection was just up in there. (Did you know that infected bone is spongey? Yeah...yuck) The poor woman may dance again and has time to heal so that she can dance at her grandson's wedding in April. The doctor comes out to the waiting room where I was starting to hallucinate from boredom and long day-itis and said..."she's fine...she is awake and telling stories again". That is one tough old broad...88 and ready to meet her great grandson.
Comings and goings.
I'm very glad to hear the surgery went well!

Well, I hope that he is not waiting around for YOUR end of Sag, Vanessa...that is too long to wait. :o)
Thanks for the good wishes for Mary, you guys. She is doing quite well today and the pain of recuperation from the amputation seems to be much less than the infection that she was fighting. Yippee! Who knew?

Oh, whew! Lisa, on your MIL's surgery. I'm glad all went well. Congratulations on the Red Barn - how exciting! And if I need to change my bet as of this Friday, I'm putting on in for Friday, the 9th. Still evening. ;-)
