I dunno...it just came out. Something was making me feel out of sorts this morning and I even had to call my friend to throw a card or two in my behalf...nope, you are not sick...there is nothing wrong with the kids winging back from The Big Island...nope. There is a colorway caught in your craw, Lisa. Oh...yeah, that. It is on the whiteboard and I have been ruminating on it. I had to carry a small handful of cranberries out to the Dyeraj and have a talk with my muse. Melissa requested some colors and this is my interpretation. It is very French to me (I am very French to me...). I call it Gendarme! Just 5 Sock! went on the table in this experiment but I see it in silk/merino and other brilliant fibers. Like Mombassa before it, it will go on a bunch of things. (Mombassa has made its way onto a bunch of Petal and 100% silk and it is out of this world. Next, should the weather decide to clear, is fiber.) Mombassa is slated for cashmere, Tom...I admit it.
We were awakened early this morning to nobody on the line...just party noises and music; music that had been in my dream. Nope, I didn't dream the whole thing because The Daughter called this morning to remind me about what I heard. She was the guest of a friend, who married her Prince Charming at their compound on the BI. I will not mention any names but the whole thing about the phone call in the early morning hours was the performer at said wedding party...I bought this man's first 45 record when we were both 12. Fingertips part one and two. Oh my heavens. It still thrills me to no end to think that my daughter had the privilege of standing 10 feet from this Giant, who played for her friend's wedding reception. How lucky can a group of people get? Mazel tov to the newlyweds...I think that I was having an out of body experience because I dreamt the song I heard before the phonecall came in. Seriously.
Now...if the sun would just come out here, I could get some of this yarn dry!
Every time I look at your blog, I say, "Oh my goodness!". You are truly the dye queen.

That's a really nice colorway. It's surprising, one wouldn't expect primary colors to go together, but the way you've saddened them up or shifted them slightly really makes for a striking combination.

Did you also hear that sharp intake of "Oooh!" from over here when the picture came up?
And, glad to know I'm not the only one who dreams in music...

Oh my
Oh my
Mombassa in cashmere???
I can sleep tonight a happier man.
May as well just put my name on it now. I packed up all my yarn and didn't leave a single skein out to take with me to Europe. Think I can have some Mombassa cashmere on my doorstep in two weeks?

Ohhhh.....I like this one. It reminded me of something, but couldn't remember what it was. Now it just came to me....it reminds me of Victorian, and Royal stuff. Beds...dresses etc......for many years ago. I would have called that one Victorian, or Royality!!:-)))
But it's sooo yummy....wanna be my friend???*GRIN* Another thing to add to my unwriteable wishlist!*LOL*

Oh I do like that one! I am just going to have to order yet MORE sock yarn from you, woman. I agree, it looks like royal robes, with gold satin linings.

I've been knitting with the Mombassa tonight -- the Merino sport -- and I feel like Isak Dinesen is going to sit down beside me any minute and say "I had a farm in Africa".

I agree with Jen, on this one! Actually, I have seriously been avoiding your blog only because I am so trying to work this summer from stash only!!! Good grief, what's a yarn-a-holic to do? Your colors are just stupendous!
