First of all, as an update on the stuff going on around here...we got mom in to see her lovely GP yesterday after a worried call to the Kaiser advice nurse (an angel). Mom has some bleeding issues and so we had to put her through the first of many gynecological exams. I will know more on Friday when she gets in to see the OB/GYN. Old neglected body...not good, my friends. The doctor gave ME a big gift, by sweet talking mom into agreeing to allow help from a home healthcare nurse...someone who will come in to bathe her. She will listen to the doctor and not me , which is just fine. I was mouthing "Thank You" to the doctor when she made this all happen. Now we just have to see how the reality of Nurse Nancy coming to give her a bath sets in. *I* do not have to be the bad guy...YAY!
This is the only thing that keeps anything from being done with the dye room and so when orders come in, they go into the queue and on days like today, they will be addressed...we live with one foot out of the door but when things can be accomplished, they get DONE. Thank you for hanging in there with us. I am going to follow this post with a lovely one with all of the new patterns and kits.
hugs. and a stiff cyber drink.

Reading all thoughts and events regarding you Mom has brought back a lot of memories. My mother went to the same school, apparently. Even though I AM a nurse, she would not do anything for me, but would smile sweetly and acquiesce to HER nurse. We would just wink at each other. After spending 15 years doing home health and hospice myself, I had seen it many times before! many many hugs to you. Most important is to take care of yourself, walks and yoga and drink lots of water, and have a scheduled break hour for yourself a couple times a week.

My heart goes out to you Lisa! Having just gone through something similar with my mom, it really strikes a cord. Of course, I must say that my mom is a good patient (my father was an awful patient so I understand what you're up against and don't envy you the task). Hang in there!
