It is NOTHING if not fun around here. We make fun in the silliest ways...getting all of the cardboard pile flattened and into the BAV for movement to the recycle place is just a lot more palatable with the three of us lugging and joking and sipping a little Boeger Tempranillo. Each day is easier lately.
Mom had her 83rd birthday, sitting in her nursing home bed, smiling and making up stories about the little stuffed dog that she calls Mugwump. I am glad that WE get the smiles and the paid help gets the growls and snippiness. WE CAN LEAVE!!! We stopped at the Camino Flower Shop, here in town and had the most fascinating time in this place. It is not any kind of flower shop that any of YOU have been in unless you live in Placerville, I'm telling you. Kitties and birdies and wall to wall magic in doodads and old photos and furniture and dried hops hanging from the ceiling. I just walked in there and put myself in the owners hands and came out with the MOST beautiful bouquet for mom...it was perfect. I think that she conjured it up in the back...whatever, I am sold and will go back there again. Mom could at least see the colors and feel the different flowers in this mixed bouquet. We sang, she laughed and then she said..."Kids? SCRAM"...and so we did. Happily.
Lauren went to SF on Saturday and came home with this HILARIOUS big rubber fist that doubles as a drink cozy. The Schnickle is over the moon for this thing and he got his Mama doubling up with laughter as he tried to get her in the bootie with this thing. Giggle giggle giggle. What is better than that when you are working late, trying to get stuff ready for shipments...hearing that through the open window of the office.
He looks so INNOCENT, doesn't he? Schnickle Shnee!
The mornings are really chilly now and it seems as though the leaves are starting to drop a LOT earlier this year. Could be the drought and it could be another cold winter on the way. I am enjoying the heck out of the days, I'll tell you. We got our heater souped up yesterday, upping the efficiency so that we can live comfortably without owing our souls to the Propane Man. 20 cents on the dollar was going up the flu...phooey!
I have been doing a LOT of dyeing and yesterday was a new colorway day. I'll show them to you in a couple of days. In the meantime, the colors of Timaru are expanding and I sent poor Holly a load of photos to put up on the site. Here are a few...
I'll leave you with something pretty from Outside with the help of Inside...
Okay, what's the name of #2 and #3? No mouse-over captions! Leave me hanging like that, willya.
Schnickle and his mommy are adorable!
